AdVisual Chiptune Daw
A downloadable tool for Windows
AdVisual is a chiptune DAW that emulates the AdLib Soundcard. AdVisual GitHub.
The name comes from the AdLib Visual Composer shipped with old AdLib chips; which this editor is based off. However it's feature set extends far beyond it's "spiritual predecessor".
AdVisual's primary features are:
- The Composer to edit the song, saved in the .rol file format.
- An undo buffer (Composer only currently).
- Copy pasting, move selected notes.
- Switch between Insert and Overwrite mode to edit selected notes.
- Mute channels during playback.
- Audio feedback when placing notes.
- The Instrument editor to create and edit instruments, saved in the .bnk format.
- Create, delete, and manage instruments in your bank file.
- Edit both melodic and percussive instruments.
- Comes with a Piano Guide to preview how notes sound while editing your instrument.
Read docs.txt, or press f1 after installing and running for the full guide to using AdVisual. Press f2 to edit settings, you can set or view shortcuts from there. Download the samples folder for a couple example .rol tracks, and a simple .bnk file.
